Important information to prevent serious loss of limb ! ! !

Exams in a week.....looks like its that time of the year again where i try and derive some form of entertainment from my textbooks....and once again....I am not disappointed.....

See long ago i realised that doctors were masters of stating the obvious....

Such as exemplified by the note on every bottle of children's panadol(for kids 12 and below) that states : "Do not drive or operate machinery".....well thank god they told me that....i'd better get my 3 year old sis off the combine harvester right away....

goodness gracious....

And now they've done it again....

Allow me to quote from the world's best selling anatomy textbook...Moore's....

" The long thoracic nerve is exceptional in that it courses on the superficial aspect of the serratus anterior muscle which it supplies. Thus, when the limbs are elevated, the nerve is especially vulnerable. Weapons, including missiles....(MISSILES!!!)... directed towards the thorax are a common source of injury. "

And it took a Professor Ameritus of Anatomy and Cell Biology to tell us this......
